Sizziling circuits!

The first Mega Man, or Rockman in Asia, game was released back in 1987. And guess what, that means this little man is celebrating his 25th anniversary this year. For a game IP, this is almost as long as one can exist. In my opinion, he deserves more love from Capcom and not just some appearances in Vs. games or a soulless digital game. He deserves more, but please, no more 3D… Well, at least Capcom has not forgotten about one of their most famous mascots birthday.

To celebrate the 25th birthday of our beloved Mega Man, Capcom will release a Capcom Store Exclusive statue of the blue bomber. It will be limited, but no one knows just how limited, and individually numbered. Since they’re taking pre-orders until the 21th april 2013, I’m guessing that they will establish a number depending on how much orders they received. The price will be a mere 99.95 USD and, like I said it’s a Capcom Store Exclusive, so most likely your local comic book shop or merchandise seller will not carry this item. Since it’s not a game and thus can be shipped worldwide, that won’t be a problem, however the shipping cost can be pretty steep.

The statue will be a 10 inch (25.4 cm) high and have a 6 inch (15 cm) diameter base. Currently, we have no idea from what materials it will be made. I did ask them about it on Twitter and when I get an answer, I’ll let you guys know.
However, going by the price, I have my doubts it will be resin. It’ll more likely be PVC or something like that. Nothing wrong with that, as long as the finishing and the paint is top notch. Whatever the material will be, the statue will be hollow for the wiring of the LEDs. Yes, indeed, this statue will feature a light up function on the base, helmet and buster. Even in dark times, our hero will shine.
