A great opportunity
It has presented itself.
Sometimes, sculptors and manufacturers alike auction of rare, sold out or signed pieces. Sometimes it’s for a greater good, sometimes it’s to pay for something they need. This time, Tim Miller, one of my all-time favorite sculptors, is auctioning off some of his pieces, both his own work and just owned, to raise money to buy a new computer. It’s might not be a greater good for most of human-kind but for fans of his work, it is.
It’s a fact that sculpting in the traditional sense is slowly being replaced by digital sculpting and for many (good) reasons. And so, he’s also making the transition. Or, at least, wants to. Or to quote:
As many of you know, I’m making the gradual shift toward sculpting digitally, and my current system can’t hack it. In order to keep from going too much out of pocket, I’m auctioning off some sculptures. Any of my own work is signed on the base, and there’s even an artist’s proof available! Please check out the auctions!
It’s truly a shame that we don’t buy Bowen statues because I really like the Black Cat and Scarlet Witch variant… If the X-23 was the regular version (not the X-Force one) it wouldn’t have mattered if it was a Bowen piece or not, we would have bought it. Always like that rendition of X-23 and we’re in dire need of a statue of her since she’s one of our favorite characters… Ah well. I do hope that people consider buying these so we can get more of his awesome work! Speaking of awesome work, seen his Bombshell statues yet?
