Have you seen a little girl?
Short, black hair? About seven years old?
I have. A long, long time ago in a seaside resort town called Silent Hill.
SDCC was an incredible show for game related merchandise lovers with the unveiling of Mass Effect, Halo, Duke Nukem and Diablo statues by Sideshow Collectibles, new Megaman (Rockman) D-Arts from Bandai and quite some other stuff. With the tag ‘other stuff’ are also these beauties included. Well, beauties…
A lot can be said about the game Silent Hill but creepy and gross are two words that easily pop up when thinking about it. And finally somebody was able to capture these words and mold them together so they would form these awesome PVC figures!
The company in question is called Toymunkey Studios which is, as far as I can tell, a fairly new company. But I have to say that they put themselves on my map with these wonderfully detailed figures. At their booth on SDCC, they showcased two of their unpainted upcoming releases: a Bubblehead Nurse by Shin Tanabe and Red Pyramid Thing by Shinya Akao/HEADLONG.
Not even a month later, they showed us the fully painted prototype and if they haven’t been on your wishlist, these pictures will certainly take care of that. But be warned, this prototype is still pending approval by licensor. Of course, they would be stupid to change anything on this wonderful figure. It looks even more like Pyramid Head then it did in the game.
What I also like are those Bubble Head Nurses and how the bases interlock with eachother. It certainly is a big plus to be able to really create your own army. Now I’m wondering if they’ll come with different kind of weapons…
According to the Top Munkey from Toymunkey Studios, these figures should be for sale around December this year with an estimated price tag of $150. Which is a nice price tag if the eventual product has the same level of detail.
Oh, and did I mention that they’re going to make more in this series?
